Beginning MIG welding with Hans! $20
Saturday July 10, 1-4 pm
Learn how to cut, grind, and weld up some steel. Learn what not to do as
well. This class will cover the basics of MIG welding--that's the wire
feed
kind. If you do it right, you may be rewarded with Professor Hans, cool
cucumber of Mad Inst, stroking his facial hair and saying hmmmmm--looks ok
to me.

Basic Autoshop with Albert
and his lovely assistant Tara. $20
Saturday July 17th, 12-3 pm (TENETIVE)
Learn the basic car stuff. Maybe how to change your oil, plugs, and belts,
or how to fix whatever's wrong with either Albert's car, Tara's van, or
the
Artstar truck. All and any will be useful. More info later. Prepare to get
dirty....

Beginning sewing with Sherry $20/$30*
Saturday July 24th 1-4pm and Wed. July 28th, 7:30-9:30
Learn how to make a bag or something simple. Sherry will supply you with
an
awsome handbook telling how to do it the best half-assed way you possibly
can. You will leave knowing how to follow a pattern (!!!) and how to sew
something. Use our material, our beads, string and buttons....
That will be on saturday and cost you $20. If you want to come back on Wed
nite to finish your project, or practice or learn more or just hang out
and
drink beer, you can. It will cost you another $10.
(*You can come ONLY on saturday, but you CAN'T come ONLY on wed nite.)

Oxy-acetylene welding with Kim! $20
Saturday July 31st, 4-7 pm
Oxy-acetylene is the torch-kind of welding. Some people call it
brazing--come learn the difference. Learn how to turn on and off the
tanks,
how to adjust the regulators, how heat and bend steel, and how to weld.
You should probably have either taken a MIG or other welding class before
or
at least not be afraid of fire. But it is not neccessary. Wear real shoes.

REMEMBER: If you are a dues-paying member of Madagascar Institute, classes
are FREE. So pay your dues. To become a dues-paying member, all you have
to
do is pony up the cash ($40.00/month) and clean up after yourself. And
empty
the garbage or other monkey jobs. And get along with Shop Kat.
