Don't write them off as merely domestic, they can come in handy for other things. A blender is good for pureeing potatoe beetles to discourage them from your garden. A cheap food processor whizziz table scraps into fine chicken feed. A tagsale waterpic is just the thing to blast out those smelly seashells you picked up on the beach last summer. And an electric carving knife? Nothing sculpts foam rubber and styrofoam like an electric carving knife. That and a hot glue gun and acryllic spray paint, and Red Grooms stand aside, you can make anything from a Godzilla costume to life-sized saguaro sculptures.
