Hey ladies,

I need a table saw but really don't have the space for one. Can anyone recomend an alternitive that perhaps won't require as much space?

Peace, L

Okay, I'm a boy, but I love girls who speak tool.

How about a little portable contractor's saw. DeWalt and Bosch make decent ones. They are light (relatively) and can be easily stowed away when not in use.

If your interest is in ripping wood, you really do need a table saw.
If your interest is in cutting panels, then Festool makes a cool circular saw that runs on a track to make clean straight cuts.

I'm all for the contractor's saw as well but don't rely on the fence, they're pretty inaccurate and require a skillful touch to compansate. IMHO. You can also go to a shop and pay a fee sometimes to use theirs.

some how fashion it into a dining room table? then you would have to make industrial type looking chairs too!

or create a top for it so you can play ping pong when you are not using it for sawing. I guess if you have no room for a table saw, you probably don't have room for a ping pong table either.
