Ah, so many to love. I'm partial to knives, from my little 2 1/4" paring knife to my Spyderco Delica. But I have an amazing collection of little tools for carving and modeling clay. I should photograph them one of these days.

Re: Favorite Hand Tool
Wed, March 17, 2004 - 8:50 PMYep, still the wonder bar for the demolition derby, but a nice double-headed axe is good. I have a large one I keep by the back door. Chopping wood is great exercise and a wonderful cooler for when you are anxious or angry. It will help you to look like a serial killer and keep you from acting like one (unless you actually are one, of course). Oo, I have some tiny little jewelry pliers that are sweet, neat and handy. Oh, I just love tools. -

Thu, March 18, 2004 - 9:14 PMI like the flat bar, because it is light, it is a good tool to use when putting on a door, doing demo, etc., I also like saw, sall(spelling). I am not good with an ax, I almost cut a friend of mine's leg off with a bad aim. Chain saws are cool!! -

Re: Favorite Hand Tool
Sun, March 21, 2004 - 3:43 PMOo, careful with that ax! Friends are precious. I have been chopping wood since I was a kid, but one does still have to be mindful, an ax is vicious.
I REALLY wish I had a chain saw. I would need someone to show me how, though. Chain saws ARE cool! Still, can't beat an ax if you want a good workout. -

Sun, March 21, 2004 - 10:02 PMWell I am trying to work out more.
I was just remembering, when I first strated doing construction (I am no longer) i was using this big sleghamer and slamed it into my leg, I looked around before I let out any sounds, but that leg was messed up for a while. -

Wed, March 31, 2004 - 4:56 PMOH DANG! that hadda hurt! I forgot I had a big old pickaxe that I tore up the sidewalk along the side of my house with. Laid stone. That was a great tool. All of those swingin' things (hee hee) it helps to take a nice wide stance. Plus some core training so you don't have to rely so much on momentum. Weee! Bang! Pow!

Re: Favorite Hand Tool
Wed, April 7, 2004 - 12:53 PMMy absolute favorite (you HAVE to try these) are the GearWrenches from Craftsman. They look like a regular combination wrench, but the closed end has a ratchet inside. They are lovely and shiny, and also let you into spaces that a regular drive and socket won't fit.
Also, die grinders, dremels, angle grinders, and anything that quickly exposes bare metal.
I love this tribe! Thank you for being here. -

Re: Favorite Hand Tool
Wed, June 2, 2004 - 8:26 PMMy favorite hand tool is the crescent wrench. I got my first one when I learned how to tune up my Bug, and I could play with it all day! Although, I really dug my spark plug gap tool. Until it broke my ignition.

Re: Favorite Hand Tool
Thu, September 16, 2004 - 5:02 PMOkay, I have to narrow it down? The Pulaski...no the brush hook...dang!
Can we go with powered tools that one operates by gripping? Hurst tool (jaws of life). I like tearing cars apart.
Okay the Pulaski is the most effective for it's job, but the Brush Hook satisfies my murky limb-lopping fantasies. I'll upload pics to explain. -

Thu, September 23, 2004 - 12:57 AMNo contest for me...I fucking love axes! I love chopping things, I love destroying things, and most of all I love walking through little local punk-rock shows with an axe in my hand. You put an axe in my hand, and I feel sexy and powerful and beautiful. Don't know why, but it's been that way for a while.
