It sounds like you would probably want to buy a "male" fitting so that you can screw the sprayer onto it. They also make couplers that will allow you to cut out the bad piece and rejoin the ends to make a single (albeit 2" shorter) hose. Finally, they make these things in cheap shitty plastic and durable brass.
